Our Story
This group was formed around September of 2024, during our efforts to address inappropriate gender identity and fluidity instruction in Transitional Kindergarten (TK) classrooms of Cupertino Union School District (CUSD) in Northern California. We worked together to ensure age-appropriate education for our children.
In that TK classroom, the teacher introduced gender identity and fluidity topics through poster, books, conversations. And teacher persistently encouraged young boys to wear dresses, even after they expressed discomfort and declined.
These actions not only deviate significantly from the district’s approved TK curriculum but also violate California Education Code requirements for age-appropriate instruction.
While we support inclusivity and diversity in education, we believe complex topics such as gender fluidity and abstract pronouns are not suitable for 4- and 5-year-olds. At this age, the focus should be on fundamental skills like language development and social-emotional learning.
We have actively engaged with district staff, the school principal, superintendent, and board members to address these concerns through proper administrative channels.
Then we started a petition within our community, strongly promoted and supported BP-6144 (controversial topics introduction), and it was finally adopted on November 21st, 2024 by CUSD.
Our Mission
We advocate for educational excellence and will not back down when our parental rights are violated. We firmly believe that transparency and trust between schools and the parent community are fundamental.
We deeply respect our dedicated teachers, and we recognize that the vast majority of them work tirelessly to provide high-quality, well-balanced, and academically focused education. However, we demand opt-out procedures for any controversial curriculum content that may not align with our children’s developmental stages.
What began with just a few concerned parents has grown into a community of hundreds advocating for curriculum integrity. Our petition has gained widespread support, and we continue to grow stronger as more parents join our mission to protect and enhance our children’s education.
Cheers,
